Lauren E. Rosignal, RD, LDN, CDM, CFPP
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
lauren
Nutrition can be defined as a way to nourish our bodies, but this definition doesn’t need to include the idea of avoiding “bad” foods while only consuming “good” foods.  This black and white thinking can lead to endless cycles of dieting which may turn into unhappiness, discouragement, and feelings of shame or hopelessness.
Lauren supports the use of “all foods fit” or “everything in moderation” approach.  Whether we are working on disordered eating, weight management, or blood sugar abnormalities, the person as a whole (mind, body and spirit) must be considered.  Approaching clients from a nutrition therapist perspective, allows a safe space to create life-changing goals that lead clients to feeling good about ones self.

Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Science in dietetics with a minor in forensic science from Western Illinois University followed by a clinical dietetic internship in Pennsylvania where she discovered her passion for eating disorder nutrition therapy.  Lauren has worked in a variety of settings including residential treatment, outpatient counseling, long-term care, acute-care, and a woman’s clinic that treated prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric nutrition.  Lauren is working toward a masters degrees in professional counseling to better understand the psychology behind the relationship we form and how our lives and lifestyle.

Monique Prohaska, ATR, CYT, LCPC
DSC_0538Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Monique Prohaska is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.  She has professional training and advanced certification as a Registered Art Therapist (ART) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board, Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT), and is a Reiki Level I & II Certified Practitioner.

Monique believes healing come through creative problem solving.  As a child, an adolescent, and an adult, I have found drawing and creative journaling to inspire me, as well as, illuminate those “A-Ha” moments.  This led me to my journey as an Art Therapist as the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and thus building upon other complementary modalities.

In my years of practice, I find that using art therapy with children, adolescents, and adults can be incredibly beneficial when words get in the way or don’t know how to be expressed.  Sometimes we feel trapped by verbal expression and the mere act of creating can be cathartic, releasing, and can promote relaxation, especially in our hectic world that many of us, young and old, experience daily.  You do not need any artistic skills to engage in art therapy, which is entirely different from an art class.  In art therapy the focus, or goal, is on process, rather than the product.

My practice of art therapy and counseling is Person-Centered, which encourages the client to take the lead in therapy and, especially, with their artwork.  Counseling session are tailored to what the client needs at the moment.  By incorporating a multi-faceted holistic background, these tools can be generated to encourage the client to grow and bring hidden parts of themselves to light.  Some of these creative tools include:  creative journaling, guided imagery, relaxation techniques, yoga and Reiki.  I accept insurance.

Deborah Devaro, PsyD
Certified EMDR & HMR Psychotherapist

I have had 25 years of experience working in the field of mental health focusing on trauma, addictions, and anxiety issues.  My approach has adopted a mind-body-spiritual focus in healing clients, while working on issues related to many facets of trauma, including sexual and physical abuse, childhood neglect, bullying, car accidents,  emotional abuse, death of a loved one, and PTSD.  Phobias, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse and all other addictions often evolve in a person’s life because of these traumas.  During our therapeutic relationship, I try to encourage each client to strive for balance among all aspects of their daily lives focusing to heal themselves from within from past emotional and physical tragedies and rejections.  Adults and adolescents with anxiety disorders, self-esteem struggles, self-harm, and trauma histories resulting in addictive behaviors are the primary focus of my professional experience.  My goal is to assist clients in developing strong assertiveness skills and inner calm through self-empowerment often resulting in a stronger sense of self and the emerging of a unique identity.  I focus on empowering individuals by assisting them with identifying appropriate ways to set boundaries and setting themselves free from  co-dependent interactions within their relationships and daily lives.   As a result, they can begin to create a healthy balance between their genuine needs and those of others.    I believe the approaches I have developed and adopted in my practice help clients to desensitize the level of intensity, both emotional and physical, so that they can break the re-experiencing of deep past internal pain, which further keeps the additive cycles present in their lives.   Using trauma and anxiety focused therapies.  (EMDR, Holographic Memory Resolution, and Reiki energy healing).  The need to self soothe deep emotional pain through addictive behaviors is significantly decreased.  My goal in therapy is to work in a client centered approach allowing the client to guide the treatment at their own pace.  In doing so, the opportunities for “re-experiencing” or “re-living” a traumatic event or painful memory is significantly reduced and most often avoided.  Through the reframing and healing of buried memories often locked in the unconscious mind, clients can begin to release old negative energy from their mind, body, and spirit.

Jill Jacobe, MA, LCSW
Ripple Therapeutic Services

I have been working in the Mental Health field for 30+ years and in private practice since 2003. My experience includes working with male and female adolescents and adults in Inpatient, Residential, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient settings. My specialty is working with those suffering from eating disorders. I practice from the perspective that the ED is rarely about the food, but it is often only a symptom of issues surrounding depression, anxiety, trauma, and low self-esteem, to name a only a few of many causes. I often use a creative approach to therapy, through the use of animals (especially my golden retriever Jetson!), art, music and experiential resources. I have extensive experience in working with Bipolar D/O, BPD and behavioral disordered adolescents. I believe with the help of compassionate, supportive, and non-judgmental therapy, while holding one accountable to their capabilities, that people can find a place of authenticity, resilience, acceptance and peace. I strive to empower clients by working on individual goals with lasting results.
The name of my company, Ripple Therapeutic Services, is derived from many concepts and metaphors. To name an only a few: change; connection; leadership; oneness; hope; inside out/outside in; circles of life. Think and create your own metaphor….via paint, music, words etc.!!!  You can reach me through my email- jilljacobe@gmail.com or Cell (630) 809-6993
